How about side contents?
Those not enough to get into a standalone product but still worthy to some players, such as a SEPARATE CONTINENT of GAME ARENAS.
I'd like to pay some to play the dragon or snowball arenas again whenever. Maybe instead of regional servers, keep only the international for the game arenas, or just separate language districts but still plays together.

Maybe also give non-maximizable titles (goes on and on, so doesn't affect the kind of big deal title) for wins in each arena.

DirectSong should definitely goes into the store, too.

a big NO to a continent of greed and dollar sinks ! it would get expanded more and more instead of quality campagins
an even bigger NO to selling gold for $$ - this will just destroy the economy completely and gold may even stop being a currency in serious trades (huge inflation, ectos for 20k+ each, no reason to farm gold, almost no reason to even play pve)

Here is an idea that people might/might not like that could potentially be sold.

PvP
Skill Pack Codes. You buy these and with the Skill Pack Code given you can then claim your PvP Unlocked skill reward which is 4 random skills and one elite. Skill Packs come divided in Profession Sets. So a Monk set will never give you an unlockable mesmer skill. Skill packs are random, you might just get the same skill various times before you get the one you wanted to unlock.

PvE
Dungeon Area Codes. Anet would have to create various SF mini like areas for this to work. These areas have an NPC at each of their 'gates'/'entrances'. Once you claim your code reward the NPC will acknowledge your account so that any of your PvE characters can now access this area.

The area itself will have various Epic/Endgame type Quests. The pack itself comes with one code for the buyers account and allows the buyer to invite at any time up to four friends. In other words the Leader needs to have a code, the ones invited do not. Perhaps they need to pay a gold fee of sorts. The codes are perishable after a given amount of time. Once the codes time limit is up the person would have to re buy the codes to gain access to said area again. These areas cannot be solo'ed. The NPC will not allow a solo player in. (Buying and Sharing idea perhaps)

These areas perhaps may have a bonus to drops. Quests rewards are random loot and/or gold that range from uncommon to rare. None of the items won/found in these Quests are any diffrent then the existing ones. In essence you are actually paying to gain access to an area with endgame/epic like PvE content. The areas need to be quite big. I'd love to see this implemented to sell us entrance to a new Post Searing Catacombs for example. Or entrance to the Orr Ruins, etc etc.

The idea of a store makes me uneasy, it could fast kill GW if not handled correctly. Char slots is one thing but please please be careful what you put in this store because I can see more bad than good coming from it otherwise.

Edit: And if Anet start selling gold, as mentioned by the poster above, then that's it. Game over.

Hmm, I'm seeing a lot of requests for things people have been asking for for a long time like auction houses. Arenanet will have opened pandora's box if they actually start charging people for stuff like that. Why not just put in these?

Deepscorn Hollow is an asylum for the wicked, a refuge from the persecution of the virtuous. Designed for necromancers.
$1.89

Shiro's Razor (2.8 MB)
Conquer one of the deepest and most challenging dungeons in all of Cantha to claim this fearsome green weapon.
$2.99

The Thieves Den Guild Hall (4.5 MB)
Uncover a famous pirate's lost ship and claim it for your own. Designed for Assassins.
$1.89

Wizard's Tower Guild Hall (17.6 MB)
In the frozen Shiverpeak mountains stands Frostcrag Spire, a tower of wonders for your magic-oriented character to call home.
$1.89

Orrery (18 MB)
Harness the power of the stars. Rebuild the defiled Orrery and unlock the secrets of this Flaming Scepter Mages Guild Inner Sanctum. (Available after completion of "Closer to the Stars")
$1.89

Pet Armor Pack (6.2 MB)
Tyria is a dangerous place. Protect your pet from danger with this beautiful handcrafted armor.

i saw this idea several times:
i like the idea mentioned before about hair styles being changed ~ i would buy that!
plus it seems that eveyone seems to want to change at least one part of their character's appearance...however i don't see why we can't just be charged in-game gold for this

basically anything we get for Free in the game should not be sold in the store - gold, weapons, etc... cause that's what you strive for in the game

changing the log-in would be cool - but I don't think I would pay for it :/ that just seems pointless...maybe downloadable skins, but maybe other people are different and they would actually pay for that.

I know people mentioned this earlier as well:
WHOOT! Guildwars Gear! (cheesy title doesn't need to be included) i love this idea and think that the store could be like an actual store! like we can buy guildwars shirts or hats or some niffy mug or something - i wouldn't mind being a walking advertisement! its a damn good game!

and everyone seems to want more inventory space...so i think that would be most beneficial to sell...then again, paying gold in-game would again be my choice.

i just know that i want my buyable character slots available soon, lol, so i hope you guys think about every angle of this store situation <3

I would also be in favor of some service in the big towns that would allow you to change your characters' appearance i.e., hair, facial features, etc.

This may sound crazy, but hey i am (a little) mad. Anyone remember in FF7 when you first stumped up all that gil to pay for the pretty useless Villa?

Houses/ Villas/ Sanctuaries etc

We have the guild hall's in place for our guilds. How about individual place for sanctuary? Say you create a few set templates which everyone can use

Treehouse
Beach Shack
Mountain Hut

These would obviously have to be fitted into the scheme of GW but the possibilities of these 'sanctuaries' would be endless. And then you can buy extra 'furniture' for these places like weapon racks to show off your weapon collections, chests to store extra money and items etc (would be a novel way of adding extra storage...)

It could have a wardrobe or something of the like to store armour.

When you have a title etc you could receive a certificate or something at your home.

The house could link in all the above suggestions, for instance a purchasable npc who creates new looks for you (hair, face, height etc)

This would give us something to feel proud about and treasure, a place to store our goodies and show off to friends etc etc

Pre Searing
Also, there are many of us in pre-searing who could do with an extra bit of storage, dont forget us in the storage update!

Player Crests

I would like to see a customizable crest for each player. This could be put onto the armour like a chest plate or something in order to individualise your own character.

I'm definitely up for any guildwars out-of-game merchandise...and I'd like to see some guildwars coasters to save my table from coffee rings. I'd much rather use coasters than my guildwars cd's!

I'm not sure whether ingame stuff should be available as its likely to mess with the economy!

For anyone that said, "Be able to change your name" or anything to that sort... Don't say it again... If you haven't thought of it, scammers can just go ahead and scam and go change their name... So it wouldn't be wise to suggest it..

Not sure if this has been mentioned but... If they want to make revenue from an online store dealie then why not have stuff like coffee mugs, t-shirts and metal / plastic Guild Wars figures. I would love to have a Guild Wars coffee mug and a set of elementalist figures and whatnot.

I'm ok with then selling xtra slots but when it comes to in-game features, I'm not too sure I like the idea.

I agree. The topic seems to have shifted from "What would you like to give us money for?" to a general "What do you want?"

Things like an appearance-changer NPC or pet stable don't belong here.

And the problem I see with the ability to pay extra to upgrade to a CE is that for a CE you're not just paying for glowing hands or backup dancers, you're also paying for an art book, a mousepad, stickers, a map, a headset, etc.

I see extra storage space as iffy. The price would be the biggest determining factor for most people, but personally I see this better suited as sold for in-game gold rather than cash.

Please NO ingame items for sale in the shop, it will screw up stuff.

It would simply be the same as buying stuff off ebay for real money, except it would be 'legal'.

If anything like that will be made I would lose a lot of respect for Anet (or NCsoft or whoever it is).

Oh yeah account merging would be nice - obviously without losing any slots since you are actually paying to have them merged.

Gaile, my answer is anything and everything within the boundaries already set. If you guys want to sell special real-money armor, I'm all for it. If you want to sell weapon skins, I'm all for it. As long as stats stay the same, there is nothing you guys can do that will disrupt my gaming enjoyment, since all I really need is droks armor and a collector weapon or two.

I'd even say sell in game money and undercut the ebayers. It would be kind of a first, and totally screw over folks who have been making money off your hard work. I hear alot of people talk about the economy... which is bloated and broken. Offering anything and everything may even fix that. I don't see how gold selling would destroy GW. Ok yay... you have a cool looking wand... that does the same thing my wand does... except yours cost $5, mines was free.

The one unique thing I'd like to see is the ability to purchase a stable... maybe 5 slots that are linked to storage that are used to hold pets. This way a ranger can have a variety of pets without having to give them to the tamer all the time.

And again... This thread is NOT to be used for the discussion of the guild wars economy, opinion on bots and gold, or other aspects of the game. Please keep this on topic.

So if you buy the special items or armour, you have a character that is better, stronger, less likely to die, etc?

Just incase nobody has told Gaile this....

No.

The maple story items are a bit like the event items you put in GW, except that instead of having to wear your dragon mask instead of you Fast Casting Mask you put your Dragon Mask ontop of your fast casting Mask. So people in game are equal armour and so on, however those willing to spend money get a better character visually, instead of hitting with a sword wearing a helmet with a spike you can make your character hit with a snowboard, and where snowboarding goggles etc.

So imo this doesnt unbalance their game, maple is actually fun to play occassionally. This situation is ineed like what alot mof people have asked to have with the collector masks, to get the looks, but without the disadvantage as comes with equiping them.

However if Anet/NCSfot started offering silly items like snowboards to visually replace your sword, i would cry, so to this point I am against it.

I just thought I would point out how the maple items actually work to stop confusion.

As far as what I would like to see in the shop?

The diea of purcashing more storage has been batted around for ages, and would be good.

Also PayPal support would be excelent. I am aware that PayPal charges a fee to the reciever of money. (isnt it 10, or 5%?), perhaps Anet could figure out a percentage base for this, so that 10% of XXXX is $9.99, so you pay XXXX PayPal get their money, Anet get their money, we all pay $1 something more, (which lets face it isnt alot) and we are all happy bunnies!!!

Also I would like to see Debit Card support, I'm not sure how popular they are in the US, but in UK they are used alot, and can be used in alot of online stores etc, just like a Credit Card. Support for these would be great, since I turned down a Credit Card when I opened my account, on account of not liking the idea of spending money I dont own.

For those of you that don't know a Debit Card works just like a Credit Card, except there has to be money in the account to use it, and unless u have an overdraft, you cant go below whats in there. I think there are alot of gamers who may have a Debit Card, since you can get them from 16 in UK, but not a Credit Card, and this would open up the purchasing feature to alot more customers.

But please please please dont sell in game gold, or things, it would seriously ruin the game.

I really dont think other than that what has been suggested by myself and others theres alot that can be added to the store, not without upsetting alot, if not most people.
